Canadian Poultry Farmers and World Egg Day
Every year worldwide poultry professionals celebrate egg day to recognize the importance of eggs as a global source of high-quality, affordable nutritious food. Further, this day honors the efforts of egg farmers, who ensure a continuous supply of safe and sustainable food.
The poultry egg producing farmers of Canada commemorated World Egg Day on Friday by honoring the 1,270 farming families who produce eggs and significantly contributing in world animal food production. The “World Egg Day” is an opportunity to celebrate the nutritious and versatile egg,” said Roger Pelissero, Chair of Egg Farmers of Canada and a third-generation egg farmer. “The event recognized the appreciable effectors of Canadian layer farmers who’s dedicated work, providing food with essential nutrients and reinforcing our national food system.” This annually celebration highlights the worth of egg nutrition and recognizes the persistent efforts of farmers in maintaining a consistent domestic supply.
